Maggie J. Szymanek, consultant, has been working in administrative postions with human service non-profit organizations for more than 30 years. Her career began with community mental health, and continued at United Ways in Michigan, Florida, New York and Virginia.

As the director of development and communications at Burgundy Farm Country Day School in Alexandria, Virginia, where Maggie spent nine years, she was responsible for fund-raising, special event planning, alumni relations, and communications and marketing. After leaving Burgundy In 2006, she began working as a consultant with small independent schools and non-profit human service organizations in the Washington, DC area, providing services ranging from strategic planning, capital campaigns, graphic design, special event planning, board development, marketing, and fund-raising.

In addition to consulting, Ms. Szymanek is also a professional photographer, and provides photographic services to independent schools and non-profit organizations.
